Williamson unsold, du Plessis in new team

Kane Williamson did not get a team in the mega auction of IPL. The former New Zealand captain's base price was Rs 2 crore. Although he played for Gujarat Titans in the previous season, the franchise did not retain him. That is why Williamson's name was added to the auction list.

After Williamson, another New Zealand cricketer, Glenn Phillips, was auctioned. He too remains unsold. His base price was also Rs 2 crore.

Faf du Plessis of South Africa has gone to a new address. He was joined by Delhi Capitals. The 40-year-old Protea batter has been brought in by the franchise for a base price of Rs 2 crore.

Du Plessis was picked up at a base price of Rs 2 crore but initially no one showed interest. Later Delhi paddled thoughtfully. As no one else bid, Delhi got him. Du Plessis played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) last season. Even though Delhi got him, RCB did not issue a route to match card.
