Eknek approves 5 projects worth around 6000 crore rupees


The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved 5 projects with an expenditure of about 5 thousand 915 crores 99 rupees. Out of this, government funding is Tk 1,950,940,000, foreign funding is Tk 4,787,500,000 and the organization's own funding is Tk 32,550,000.

On Monday (November 25) the chief advisor and chairperson of ECNEC. This approval was given in the ECNEC meeting held at the NEC conference room in the Planning Commission premises under the chairmanship of Muhammad Yunus.

Planning Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud gave the details during a press briefing at the NEC committee room after the Ecnec meeting.

The approved projects are:

Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources' 'Extension and Empowerment of Eastern Grid Network' Project, Ministry of Education's 'Capacity Building of Universities in Bangladesh to Promote Youth Entrepreneurship' Project, Ministry of Shipping's 'Management of Modern Waste and Discharged Oil Removal at Mongla Port' Project, Local Govt. Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives' Chittagong Sewage System Development Project (Catchment-2 & 4)' project and 'Emergency Multi-Sector Rohingya Crisis Response Project (Second Revised)' project of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief. Besides, proposals for extending the duration of two projects were approved without increasing the cost.
