A young man from Burj Nalkia village of Raikot died in Manila. The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Gurpreet Singh. The youth had gone abroad in 2017.

Jagroop Singh, father of the deceased youth Gurpreet Singh, told that he was his only son. Who moved to Manila in 2017 to centralize his life. Shortly after going there, he started his finance work. He told that just a few days ago his aunt's son was getting married in Amritsar. Whom his son had seen live for about 5 minutes through video call, but when he was called in the evening, he did not pick up the phone.
After this, he kept calling her for two days, but when she did not pick up the phone, they tried to know her well-being by calling people living nearby. When the neighbors opened his room and saw, they told that Gurpreet Singh was lying in a dead condition. Nothing could be known regarding how Gurpreet Singh died. As soon as information about the incident was received, Manila Police reached the spot and took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem.
He told that Gurpreet Singh had great interest in sports. He also won many medals in Judo-Karate. He told that his son has participated in national level competitions. Due to which he was getting a job in the Air Force also. But from the beginning he wanted to go and settle abroad. Due to this he went to Manila and started working. He told that when he had talked to his son recently, he had said that he would definitely come to the village in the new year. He had to return home to India for the first time since 2017.
