Arsenal forgot to win. In all competitions, they drew after losing two consecutive matches in their previous three matches. The last time they won was against Preston in the League Cup. And their last victory in the English Premier League was more than a month and a half ago. Finally, relief returned to the gunners' camp. Arsenal beat Nottingham Forest 3-0, giving Liverpool their only defeat in the current league. They won after four matches in England's top level domestic football.
England forward Bukayo Saka opened the scoring after 15 minutes. He gave Arsenal the lead with Martin Odegaard's assist. Had it not been for a couple of great saves from Forest keeper Matz Sels, the hosts could have extended their lead before half-time.
Forest started the match level on points with Arsenal. But their hopes were dashed by substitute Thomas Partey's goal. He doubled the lead in the 52nd minute with a curling shot. Substitute Ethan Noaneri added the third goal.
In this victory, Arsenal rose to fourth place with 22 points in 12 matches. They are 6 points behind top-placed Liverpool, who face Southampton on Sunday. Forest dropped to sixth place.
