All ancillary decisions, including sanctions and export controls against Russia due to continued military operations in Ukraine, will remain in place. The G7 (G7) group of industrialized countries announced this in a joint statement on Saturday (November 16). British news agency Reuters reported this.
The statement said that the thousandth day of Russian aggression against Ukraine is coming. The only obstacle to a just and lasting peace is Russia.
Italy is the current president of G7. The other seven member countries are the United States, Canada, Japan, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.
The statement pledged to continue supporting Ukraine as long as necessary to prevent Russian aggression.
This commitment by the G7 leaders signals a long-term international resistance to the Ukraine conflict. Efforts are being made to keep Russia under pressure by sanctions on one side and continued support on the other.
