A small number of people participated in the student uprising: finance advisers

Social Development Foundation (SDF) provided financial assistance to the family members of the martyrs and the injured in the movement on Tuesday (November 12). According to the notification, the beneficiary families of 20 districts are getting support under the Resilience, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Improvement project under implementation from SDF with the help of the World Bank. Seven of them were martyred in the movement. 16 seriously injured and 33 injured. Also many members were more or less injured and damaged.

The notification also said that the designated person of the family of seven dead SDF members was given 2 lakh taka, 16 seriously injured members were given 1 lakh taka and 33 injured members were given financial assistance of 50 thousand taka. Apart from this financial support, the families of the injured members have been closely involved in the project's poverty alleviation and livelihood activities at the village level as per the project guidelines.

Chairman of the SDF Board of Directors, former Secretary and Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR). Najma Mobarek, Secretary of Financial Institutions Department, chaired the meeting by Mohammad Abdul Majid. Besides, senior officials of the Ministry of Finance, members of SDF Board of Directors and Governing Body, journalists, family members of martyrs and injured were present in the event.

SDF began its journey in 2001 as an autonomous non-profit organization under the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance. SDF has been working since its inception to achieve poverty alleviation and SDG goals and livelihood development of Bangladesh government.
