Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said Israel is carrying out 'genocide' in Gaza and Lebanon. According to BBC report, Prince Salman was addressing a summit in Riyadh on Monday.
Prince Salman said that Palestine is an independent country and should get the status of a separate country. He also hinted at improving relations with Iran. Salman warned Israel not to attack Iran and also demanded the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the West Bank and Gaza.
This is the first time since the start of the war in Gaza that Saudi Arabia has criticized Israel so strongly.
Emergency meeting called after Trump's victory On the initiative of Saudi Arabia, an emergency meeting was called by Muslim and Arab leaders in Riyadh to discuss Israeli actions in the Middle East. Representatives of more than 50 Muslim countries of the world participated in it.
This summit was called at a time when Donald Trump has won the presidential elections in America. It is believed that Islamic countries want to put moral pressure on Trump so that he stops Israel's actions.
Iran's President cited busyness, sent Vice President According to Al Jazeera's report, before the summit, President Masoud Pazhakian had called the Saudi Crown Prince. He praised Saudi Arabia for hosting this summit. He told Salman that he would not be able to attend the summit personally but he was sending the First Deputy President of Iran as his representative.
At the meeting, Iran's Vice President Mohammad Rez Aref described the events taking place in Gaza as a 'shameful disaster' and appealed to all Muslim countries to take united action to respond to Israel.
Last year also the summit was held in Riyadh on 11 November. Leaders of many Muslim countries also participated in this meeting. Even then Muslim countries had demanded to unite and impose sanctions on Israel.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, Israel has killed more than 43 thousand people in Gaza alone since October 7. At the same time, Israel has claimed to have killed more than 18 thousand Hamas fighters.
