Bangladesh heard the bad news ahead of the third ODI against Afghanistan in what turned out to be an unscripted final. Captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto was knocked out of the last match of the series due to a groin injury. This has been confirmed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
Chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu said, Shanto will not be able to play in the third ODI due to injury.
Shant got injured while fielding in the second ODI against Afghanistan. Scans show that Shantar is unlikely to recover in time for the match. But he had the main role in the return match of the series. By playing an innings of 76 runs, he has built a good capital base. He was also the man of the match. Bangladesh won the match by 68 runs.
Due to Shantar's injury, Bangladesh's list has increased in the current series. Meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim has been knocked out. Mehdi Hasan Miraj will captain Shanta in the last match. Zakir Hasan will enter the team instead.
