Leaders and workers of various organizations are marching in parts at Zero Point of the capital to resist the protest march called by Awami League. They started these marches from Sunday morning. However, traffic in the city is normal.
On the occasion of Shaheed Noor Hussain Day, Awami League has called for a protest march 'to demand the establishment of democratic rights' at the zero point of Gulistan in the capital today. This program is scheduled to be held at 3 pm. On the other hand, the government is in a strict position around the program.
In this regard, Awami League said in a Facebook post to the leaders and workers at around 7 pm on Saturday, 'Army and police will not create any trouble, they are already under a lot of pressure internationally. Everyone come without fear.'
Awami League joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nashim told Ajker newspaper about the program on this day, 'I am taking the November 10 program seriously with the aim of regaining democratic, normal values from the hands of the usurping, unconstitutional, illegal Yunus government. People are spending their days in misrule and oppression. If democracy returns, the country and its people will get rid of the blockade.'
On the other hand, Awami League workers and supporters will not be allowed to gather at Zero Point, according to various government sources. Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam wrote in a post on his personal Facebook ID, Awami League is a fascist party. They will not be allowed to protest in Bangladesh.
He said that those who try to hold rallies, gatherings or processions under the orders of genocidal and dictator Sheikh Hasina, will be dealt with by law and order forces with full force. The interim government will not tolerate any attempt to disrupt the law and order situation in the country.
In this regard, Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Media Department of DMP, told Ajker newspaper on Saturday that Awami League has not sought any permission from the police to hold a rally or public gathering. Police will take action against any party who gathers illegally without permission.
