Accident occurred during shunting at Barauni Junction
Let us tell you that a railway employee died after getting buried between the parcel van and the engine of the train at Barauni Junction. The incident occurred on Saturday when Amar Kumar Raut was disassembling the engine of Lucknow-Barauni Express (train number: 15204) at Barauni Junction. During the shunting operation, the train driver suddenly reversed the engine, due to which the employee got trapped between a coach of the train and the engine. A video of the incident is going viral on social media. In this video, Amar is seen trapped between the engine of a train and a power car parked on platform number 5 of Barauni Junction.
What did DRM say on the incident?
After the incident, senior officials of Sonpur Railway Division reached the spot and ordered an investigation into the incident. DRM Sonpur said “This is a very unfortunate incident which should not have happened at the workplace. We immediately ordered an officer level inquiry into the matter. We have released the last rites allowance to the victim's family and Amar's family as per service rules. Compensation will be given. Action will be taken against the accused after the investigation is completed.
