The anti-discrimination student movement has called for a counter-programme to Awami League's program on Nur Hossain Day. Before that, hundreds of students and leaders of various organizations have been stationed at zero point of the capital since night. They said to stay there overnight to resist the dictator's allies.
It can be seen in Sarzamin on Sunday night, the anti-discrimination student-crowd, the activists of BNP and the organizations and the activists of the People's Rights Council continued to chant slogans at the zero point. Sometimes various units of BNP come to GPO intersection with motorcycle show-downs and leave again. The present students said that Awami League is making a new conspiracy around Shaheed Nur Hossain Day. They have taken a stand since night to prevent their inactivity. They will stay here all night and even during the day.
At that time, they said, 'Injustice will be washed away in a flood of blood, Hang me, hang me / Hang Hasinare / If you need a rope, take the rope, I will not let the blood of the charmed brother go in vain, I will not let the blood of Abu Saeed brother go in vain, see that Hasina / Aichere tor Bapera, Awami League goons are seen chanting slogans like 'Namis na razpatha/Tadikari Kari, if caught but not released', etc.
Kausar Ali, president of Suhrawardy College branch of Student Rights Council, said, “Sheikh Hasina has run away from India and is conspiring against the country. Giving instructions to the activists. Even after the mass uprising, we see the rise of fascists. We are staying here, will stay overnight. If I see someone who commits genocide, I will first wash him, then I will hand him over to the law.'
Islami Chhatra Andolan's Central Publication Secretary Nazimuddin said, 'Fascist Awami League, under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, is trying to create chaos on Shaheed Nur Hossain Day. We have taken positions everywhere including zero point. If they try to cause trouble anywhere from tonight to tomorrow, we will resist it completely.'
BNP leader Jewel from Lakshmipur said, 'Sheikh Hasina has continued her non-political politics. They are plotting new things. So we will keep a watchful watch here all night, that they may not carry out their plan.'
Joint convener of Jasa Central Committee Farhana Chowdhury said, 'We are in the movement, we were, we will be. We will be on the streets till the end of the dictator Hasina's conspiracy.'
Earlier on Saturday at around 8:30 pm, the coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, Hasnat Abdullah, in his verified Facebook profile post, called for a mass gathering on Sunday and wrote, “mass gathering to demand the trial of the fallen dictatorship Awami League”.
Zero Point is also the venue for the anti-discrimination student movement program. They called the students to gather there at 12 noon. Soon after the announcement of this program, students started gathering in Gulistan.
Earlier, a poster was posted on Awami League's verified Facebook page. In which it is written, 'On November 10, come to zero point, to restore democracy in Bangladesh'. Later, in another post on Awami League's Facebook page, it was written for the leaders and activists, 'Come to Dhaka in groups to protect freedom and sovereignty, establish democracy and justice.'
