Laws in Saudi Arabia on the use of tattooing, shaving razors in salons

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has introduced new hygiene laws. Tanning beds (changing the color of the body using light) and tattooing are prohibited under this law. The law will come into effect within 180 days.

Arab Emirates-based media Gulf News reported this news in a report.

According to the report, this law is mainly aimed at increasing public health safety in salons. Under this, it is mandatory to keep disinfection devices in the salons and the re-use of shaving razors is prohibited.

In addition, only cosmetics and products approved by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority are directed to be used in salons.

These changes are being considered by Saudi Arabia as part of modernizing and investment-friendly the men's grooming services sector. A spokesman for the ministry said, 'We are working to improve service quality and increase investment in this sector.'

Other hygiene regulations also impose restrictions on the behavior of workers, such as the prohibition of touching the nose or mouth during service and the absence of work if any symptoms of illness are present.

In order to maintain hygiene, eating and drinking is prohibited in the salon and women will be allowed to enter under certain circumstances.
