More than 43,500 people have been killed in the Israeli invasion of Gaza. 70 percent of them are children and women. This information is known from a report of the Office of the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights (OHCHR). The report was published on Friday. This information is known from the report of Qatar-based media Al-Jazeera.
According to a report by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, 8,119 of the more than 34,500 people killed in the first six months of the Israeli occupation of Gaza have been verified. A significant number of the dead were women and children, the youngest of whom was only a day old.
Forty-four percent of those killed in the Israeli occupation of Gaza were children. 5-9 year old children are the most killed. Children aged 10-14 and children aged 4 and under are next on the list of casualties. The youngest victim was a one-day-old baby and the oldest victim was a 97-year-old woman.
According to the OHCHR report, five or more people were killed in an Israeli attack in 88 percent of cases. This indicates that the Israeli military has used weapons of mass destruction in populated areas.
The report added, “The Israeli government continues to block humanitarian access (to Gaza), destroy civilian infrastructure and massively displace people.” It states, 'these actions of the Israeli forces have caused unprecedented levels of killing, death, hunger, sickness and disease in the region.'
According to the Gaza Authority's Ministry of Health, at least 43,469 Palestinians have been killed and 12,561 injured in the war since October 7, 2023.
