Mushfiqur ends the Afghanistan series

Afghanistan series ended for Mushfiqur Rahim. The experienced wicketkeeper-batsman will not be able to play the remaining two matches of the series in Sharjah due to a finger injury. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed this in a press release today.

Bangladesh team physio Delawar Hossain said in the notification, 'Mushfiqur injured the tip of his left index finger while keeping wicket, towards the end of Afghanistan's batting innings. A post-match X-ray confirmed a tear in the DIP joint of the left index finger. He is now under management supervision and will not play in the second and third ODIs. His update will be given in due course.'

Bangladesh lost by 92 runs in the first match of the series yesterday. Mushfiqur returned with only 1 run after being stumped at the moment of the team's need. The Bangladesh team heard the bad news while the wounds of such a bad loss were fresh. The doubts about Mushfiq's performance in the next two matches due to a finger injury have come true today.

The second match of the series will be on November 9. November 11 will be the last one.
