India has condemned the attack on Hindus in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Bangladesh has also been asked to ensure the safety of Hindus and take action against extremists.
Regarding this, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal gave a statement during the press conference on Thursday. Jaiswal attributed the tension in Chittagong to an inflammatory social media post.
Actually, there is resentment among Hindus due to the controversial remarks on ISKCON temple and Sanatan Dharma in Chittagong. Thousands of Hindu community had demonstrated regarding this on Tuesday. When Hindu organizations came out on the streets in protest, the Army lathi-charged the protesters.
On the other hand, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Police Qazi Tarek Aziz said that the person who shared the controversial post has been arrested.

Gautam Dutta, who runs a pharmacy in the area, also said that even though he had closed his shop, the army personnel beat him and his employees.

In August, 205 cases of attacks on Hindus were reported in 52 districts of Bangladesh. A rally was organized in Chittagong in protest against this.
