3,000 artist albums in protest of AI Copyright Law in the UK

The country's government is planning to change copyright law to bring artificial intelligence (AI) companies to the UK market. With this proposed change, AI developers will be able to train artists online in their model. For this, developers do not require any permission or fee. In that case the artists need to adopt the 'opt-out' process. However, 3,000 musicians have released the 'Silent' (silent) album in protest of the decision.

It should be noted that if an artist does not want to participate in AI training, you can tell the company to remove the content. However, in this process, artists have to get a lot of trouble and these content may be used unknowingly. Therefore, artists are opposed to the UK decision to change copyright policy.

The album was released on Monday to protest the government's proposed legal changes. The album is titled 'Is this what we want' (that's what we want). Popular artists Kate Bush, Emogen Hip, Max Richter, Thomas Whit Jones and many others are associated with the album. Apart from this, Annie Lenx, Damon Alburn, Billy Ocehen, The Clash, Mistary Jets, Yusuf/Cat Stevens, Riz Ahmed, Tory Amos and Hans Zimmer Silent Silent Album have protested as part of the project.

This is not a general music album. There are no songs on this album, but there are empty studios and performance space surrounding words, which is a symbolic protest. These words are a reflection of their state of mind. The change in copyright law will make artists the creative work worthless and empty.

The title of 12 tracks on the album is giving a clear message together. The message said, “The British government should not legalize music theft to benefit AI companies.”

It has been an important protest in discussing the change in copyright law in the UK. Similar protests are going on in other countries, such as the United States. It has created a global concern among the artists.

The entrepreneur of the project is Ed Newton-Rax. He is currently running a major campaign. He said, 'These changes will do some kind of artists. Because they cannot control their work. In his campaign, Newton-Rax claimed that the change of copyright law would completely hand over the work of the artists to the AI company and the artists would not be able to track or control the use of their work in any way.

The album has been published just before the copyright law in the UK. As a result of this law, they need to be actively 'opt' to prevent the use of their music used for AI training.

Newton-Rax thinks it will create a losing situation for artists. Because, there is no effective opt-out method or there is no clear way, through which the artists will find out what special task of them has been used on the AI system.

“We know that opt-out schemes are not commonly used,” Newton-Rax said, and thus 3-5 percent of the artists' work will be in the hands of the AI company. ”

Artists said the solution is to create work for other markets, where their content will be better protected. The keyboard was recently dropped from a port to protest in the UK. He is considering markets like Switzerland for music shares in the future.
