WhatsApp has introduced new features for users. The new feature 'typing indicator' will bring a big change in the chat experience of the users. The facility is being rolled out for Android and iPhone. It will be open to all this week itself.
Until now, typing status was seen above the chatbar on WhatsApp. But this time typing indicator can be seen directly in the chat feed through new update. Be it a one-on-one chat or a group chat, as soon as someone starts typing, the others will see a three-dot 'bubble'. Which will show who is typing. Through this, the typing activity of others will be easily noticed before sending the message. Whether more than one person is writing or typing in the group chat, it can also be seen from the typing indicator. The facility will be activated automatically. Hence users will not need to activate it separately.
Not only that, the user's profile picture can be seen next to those three dots. The feature is being rolled out on both iOS and Android devices.
Earlier users could see the status as a 'typing' tag under the other person's profile picture in the chat. It would change to 'online' status as soon as it finished typing. But in the new update you can see the typing status of the person on the other end more easily with the help of typing bubble. As a result, the user experience of WhatsApp will improve.
