The National Board of Revenue (NBR) Reform Unity Council has announced the continuation of the movement. The organization said that the 'Complete Shutdown' program will begin on Saturday (June 23) in all offices under Customs, VAT and Tax Department. At the same time, a peaceful 'March to NBR' program will be observed from Dhaka and across the country demanding revenue reforms.
In a press release on Friday (June 27th), Additional Director General of the NBR Reform Unity Council Hasan Muhammad Tarek Rikabdar and Secretary General Sehla Siddika announced the program jointly.
According to the organization, some observations were given to the NBR officials in a press release from the finance adviser's office, but the NBR Reform Unity Council was not invited to the meeting held on June 27. As a result, no representative of the organization was present at the meeting.
According to the notice, the international passenger service will be free from the 'Complete Shutdown in terms of public interest. However, other activities will be closed in the light of the pre -announced program.
The organization has claimed that their ongoing movement is completely non -political and the program is being followed on the basis of logical demands in the interests of the country and the ten. Officials and employees of the organization are participating spontaneously on multiple demands including NBR's structural reforms, enhancement of administrative effectiveness and the removal of the current chairman.
The NBR Reform Unity Council also said they were ready to sit in dialogue with the adviser at any time to resolve the crisis. The council also sought the 'Sanutagra intervention' in this regard for the greater interest of the country.
It is to be noted that the NBR Reform Unity Council comprising three important categories under the NBR-Akarak, VAT and Customs. For the past few months, various programs have been following the demands. Due to the movement of the revenue collection and official services as a result of the movement, the NBR has also strict instructions on the presence of the office.
