Saiful Haque, general secretary of Revolutionary Workers Party, said that the interim government is not paying any attention to eliminating discrimination in the state and society. If economic and political disparities cannot be removed, political reforms will not serve much purpose, political reforms will not be sustainable. The decision to impose increased VAT and taxation is contrary to the spirit of anti-discrimination.
He said this at a meeting held at the party's Solidarity Auditorium in Segunbagicha on Saturday (January 18).
Saiful Haque said that even after five months, the interim government is not able to utilize the unprecedented huge support of political parties and people. Cannot keep the dignity of the great trust of the people. Cannot prioritize tasks.
He said, the market situation is still very rough. The government cannot control the market in any way. Livelihood worries continue. Unusually, the decision to impose VAT and taxes on hundreds of products is a threat to people who are burning in the market.
