New Delhi. Harshit Rana has performed amazingly in his debut test match. He took 3 wickets in the first innings of the first Test match being played against Australia in Perth, which also included the wicket of explosive batsman Travis Head. 22-year-old fast bowler Harshit said that he could not sleep well the night before his debut. He praised head coach Gautam Gambhir. When Harshit was not getting a chance in the playing eleven, Gambhir advised him to be patient. Harshit said that Gambhir has always supported him. Harshit was in a difficult mental state before making his Test debut against Australia. But head coach Gautam Gambhir and the advice of his parents made things easier for him.
Harshit Rana was successful in living up to Gambhir's expectations by taking 3 wickets in Australia's first innings. He supported captain Jasprit Bumrah brilliantly. Due to which the Indian team was successful in restricting Australia's first innings to 104 runs. Rana said in the press conference after the second day's play on Saturday, 'It was difficult for me to wait (for my debut). But Gauti Bhai was saying to remain patient. And perform well whenever you get a chance. He always boosts confidence. He was telling me to keep everything aside and think that you are representing the entire country. I used to talk to my parents before every match. He was advising me to be patient and saying that God will fulfill my dreams.

'I was a little nervous'
Rana told that when he was told about his debut a day before the match, he was a little nervous. According to Harshit Rana, 'He used to wake up early with his father to watch Australia's matches. In such a situation, it was a big thing for me that I am getting a chance to debut here. I was told about my debut a day before the start of the match. I could not sleep properly that night, I slept very late. Rana said that he had worked very hard for this tour under the supervision of the team management and all his nervousness was gone after getting the wicket of left-handed batsman Travis Head.
'I was successful in bowling the ball on the right length'
Harshit Rana said, 'We were talking about deciding on a plan to get the (Australian) batsmen out. And our plan was to target the wickets. I was successful in bowling the ball on the right length and got the wicket (head). He said, 'I have also worked with Morne Morkel to understand what line and length to bowl here. I was just sticking to the team's plan. The 22-year-old player thanked Bumrah for making the work of the other bowlers easier by taking three wickets in the beginning of the innings.
'Jassi Bhai made my work easy'
He said, 'Jassi Bhai made my job a little easier by taking three wickets in the beginning. It happens many times that he creates pressure from one end and other bowlers from the other end are successful in taking wickets. When Jassi Bhai does this, the whole atmosphere becomes excited. So when I came to bowl, the Australian team had lost three wickets and I was thinking of taking a few more wickets because getting them out early would be beneficial for us.
