Prime Bank Young Tigers National School Cricket is on the field from today (Monday) to find future Mashrafe-Shakib. 351 schools across the country will participate in this event. Where a total of 585 matches will be held in 64 districts.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the start of this tournament by holding a press conference at Mirpur Sher Bangla Stadium on Monday (January 20). This tournament has started in 10 districts across the country. BCB Director SK Fahim Sinha and Prime Bank Deputy Managing Director Nazim A Chowdhury were present at the press conference.
Fahim Sinha said about this tournament, 'In this year's Prime Bank National School Cricket, we will increase talent scouting compared to before. We will ensure that district coaches or their representatives at each venue are on the field for every game and scout for talented cricketers. Apart from this, we are also arranging orientation courses for cricket coaches or game teachers in schools. I wish the cooperation of all those who are concerned to make the country's biggest cricket tournament a success.
Thanking BCB on this day, Deputy Managing Director of Prime Bank Plc. Nazim A Chowdhury said, 'School cricket is a place of great emotion for us. Prime Bank has been with this tournament for ten years. A major impact of this is that we have seen around ten to twelve cricketers playing school cricket, who have reached the highest level. Prime Bank is happy and proud to be associated with the overall progress of cricket in the country and the grassroots contribution to it. At the same time kudos to BCB for conducting such a tournament successfully.'
351 schools across the country participated in this year's tournament. A total of 585 matches will be held in the district round. The champion team of 64 districts will participate in the divisional level. 57 matches will be held there. After that, 15 matches will be held at the national level with the participation of 16 teams. District level match started today. Then there will be divisional and national level games in sequence.
