Eminent banker Mohammad Nurul Amin has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Agricultural Bank. On May 24, the Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh issued this appointment.
Mohammad Nurul Amin is a well-known and skilled banker with more than four decades of experience in the banking and financial sector of the country. In his long career of 42 years, he has held important leadership responsibilities in various reputed banks and financial institutions of the country.
Prior to taking up his current duties, he served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Meghna Bank and NCC Bank for about 13 years. He is well known for his visionary leadership, strategic planning and significant contribution to the development of the banking sector during his career. Mohammad Nurul Amin has also led various top organizations of the country’s banking sector.
He served as Chairman of Association of Bankers (ABB), Bangladesh, Chairman of Bangladesh Foreign Exchange Dealers Association (BAFEDA) and Chairman of Primary Dealers Bangladesh Limited.
He started his banking career by joining Janata Bank in 1977. He holds Bachelors (Honours) and Masters in Economics from Dhaka University. Besides, he received various higher training in banking and financial sector at home and abroad and obtained diploma certificate from Oxford University and Cambridge University in UK. His experience, leadership qualities and strategic direction will play an important role in the good governance and modernization of the overall operations of Bangladesh Agricultural Bank. At the same time, the bank’s strategic changes and future preparations will become stronger and stronger.
