Iran’s army commander Major General Amir Hatami has warned of military action in response to foreign threats. Trump recently said the US was prepared to intervene if Iran’s forces resorted to violence or killed peaceful protesters.
Hatami, while addressing the students of the military academy, said that such increasing rhetoric against Iran will not be left unanswered. According to Fox News, he stressed that Iran’s armed forces are now more prepared than before.
If any enemy makes a mistake, he will be given a more decisive response.
In fact, protests against the economic crisis, inflation and government policies have been going on in Iran for more than a week and have spread to many parts of the country.
The government has announced some economic relief such as new subsidies, but the protests are not stopping. Iran considers these demonstrations an internal matter and calls foreign interference a threat to national security.
Additionally, Iran’s UN Ambassador Amir Saeed Iravani has written a letter to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council, demanding to condemn Trump’s comments as illegal.
At the same time, Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, warned that American intervention would create chaos in the entire region and destroy American interests.
