Arab Finance: IFC Vice President for Africa, Sergio Pimenta, will visit Egypt on November 24, according to a press release, sent on November 24.
The visit aims to confirm the IFC's commitment to supporting economic development in Egypt by enhancing private sector participation.
During his visit, Pimenta will meet with key government officials, including Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat.
They are scheduled to discuss and explore new opportunities to achieve further economic growth in line with Egypt's asset monetization programme.
Furthermore, Pimenta will meet with private sector leaders and sign a number of agreements to promote climate finance, sustainable tourism, and access to finance for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
Since it began operations in Egypt in 1975, IFC has invested and mobilized $9 billion in development projects in the country and has an advisory portfolio worth $24 million.
