ICT Fest 2021 has been organized on the BUET campus on February 1 to February 1, with the Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS) and Bangladesh Engineering and Technology University (BUET) Information and Communication Technology Institute (IICT). The festival has played an important role in raising the ICT sector potential and cyber security awareness in keeping with the theme 'Empowering Cyber Talent and Mourning Innovation'.
One of the festivals was the 24 -hour online capture the Flag (CTF) competition. Starting on February 7 at 9 pm, the competition showed 20 teams and professionals across the country showing their cyber security skills. The competition ended on the evening of February 7 and the names of the winners were announced.
On the last day of the festival, the BUET Auditorium had various programs, including project exhibitions, posters presentations and seven technical sessions. These sessions discussed important issues such as SQL threats and protection, productive cyber threats, AI-controlled intrusion tests, DNS dark side and AL/ML Landscape.
Two panel discussions were organized at the festival. The first one was 'Cyber Frontier Trends, Threads and Defense' and the second was 'Future of Intelligent Risk Management and Fraud Detection'. In these discussions, professionals, students and academics share their ideas and attitudes, which have given new directions to the present and future challenges of the ICT sector.
The program was presented by Shariful Anwar, joint general secretary (admin) of Bangladesh Computer Society.
The winners of the CTF competition, project exhibition and poster presentation were awarded at the closing ceremony. BCS Secretary General Allin Bobby reiterated the organization's promise to support future initiatives in technology and cyber security. He announced the establishment of the BCS Student Forum in universities nationwide to further involve the students in the ICT sector.
