“We believe that the government will give an election to the nation within the next 6 months,” said BNP Standing Committee member Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.

Hafiz Uddin Ahmed said, we have a lot of expectations from the interim government. We believe they will give the nation an election within the next 6 months. Whoever comes to power in that election, we will welcome them. Everyone will have the right to vote there. There will be democracy, there will be human rights.
He said, We want to see a government that is accountable to the people immediately. The field of politics is open, if the students want to do politics, they should form a party and come to the polls. Now they can form a party in a free environment and come to the doorstep of the people to hold elections. We will accept whoever the people give the responsibility of running the state.
Major of. Hafiz also said, we are listening to reforms, good. There is nothing wrong with reforming, but reforming is an ongoing process. Reforms will continue as long as Bangladesh exists. Will the people sit still? BNP has been struggling for 17 years – to establish people's right to vote.
He said, as a result of the revolution in July-August, the militant student society of Bangladesh and other opposition parties including BNP have proved that Bengalis are a brave nation. As a result of this struggle, the fascist government was forced to flee the country. We hope that no one else can demote us.
Major Hafiz said, Major MA Jalil, the 9th sector commander of the Liberation War, was a timeless figure in history. He should return his posthumous title of Vir Uttam. It is the responsibility of the state and government.
He also said that Barisal airport should be named after him. Also, how cantonment is made in the name of those who did not fight the liberation war in their life. Everything in their name in Barisal division should be cancelled. Cantonment cannot be in the name of any person.
