Awami League has condemned and protested the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das, spokesperson of Sammilit Sanatani Jagran Jot, and demanded his immediate release. Jahangir Kabir Nanak, presidium member of the party, made this demand in a statement on Monday (November 25).
In a statement posted on the verified page of Awami League on Facebook, Nanak said that in 1971, all people participated in the great liberation war of this country, irrespective of caste, religion, caste, class and profession. The emergence of the state of Bangladesh took place in the combined blood stream of Muslims-Hindu-Buddhist-Christians.
Jahangir Kabir Nanak said that Bangladesh of harmony is under threat today. The undemocratic government is trying to squeeze everyone after taking over. It imposed an unwritten ban on political opinions as well as religious beliefs and expressions and practices.
He said that the life of people of any community is not safe in Bangladesh today. The poison of communalism is spreading everywhere. With the direct support of this government, the religious institutions of the Buddhist-Christian community were attacked, vandalized, looted and set on fire, and they were killed indiscriminately. Which includes genocide. People of different religions, especially the traditionalists, united to protest against it. It made various demands on the government to ensure their protection.
Nanak said that the extremists supported by the fascist Yunus government continued to create hatred and ridicule against them. On the other hand, they were tortured by the law and order forces. As part of this, Sanatan leader Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested today from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
He said, the incident of arresting someone from the airport is unprecedented in any civilized country. On behalf of Awami League, we strongly condemn and protest against his arrest in this way and demand his immediate unconditional release.
