Two friends named Shakib and Siam were killed in a head-on collision between a trolley and a motorcycle in Palash of Narsingdi.
The accident happened on Monday (November 25) evening at Drishinandan road in Danga Union of the upazila.
Deceased Sakib (18) is the son of Farooq Mia of Taltala village of Danga Union and Siam (18) is the son of Mojibur Rahman of Kenduab village of the same union.
Relatives and locals said that around 5:30 in the evening, Shakib and Siam left for Ghorashal on a motorcycle from Taltala area. Later, around 6 o'clock, a motorcycle collided head-on with a trolley coming from the opposite direction on Drishinanda Road in Santanpara. Two friends fell on the side of the road. Later, Shakib died on the spot. Siam also died after being taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital with serious injuries. After this incident, the trolley driver ran away but the trolley was impounded.
Narsingdi Sadar Hospital emergency department doctor Monir Hossain said that Siam was given saline and oxygen after he was brought to the hospital in a coma. He died after 15 minutes of treatment.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Palash Police Station Shahidul Islam said that the police have been sent to the spot. Legal action will be taken after talking to the families of the victims.
