Arab Finance: An alliance consisting of Hyundai Rotim and the Egyptian National Railways Company (NERK) intends to start manufacturing 40 new trains for the second and third lines of the Cairo Tunnels Metro by the middle of the current year, according to the East Economy website.
Where the coalition plans to hand over the first seven trains in 2026, with a two -year warranty, in addition to providing maintenance work for eight years.
It is worth noting that the coalition signed in 2022 a contract worth 656 million dollars to manufacture and supply 320 train vehicles, with 40 trains for the second and third lines of the subway, after the two companies signed an initial memorandum of understanding in 2021 in this regard.
This also comes within the framework of the government's plans to localize the manufacture of railways.
