My Bangladesh (AB) party gave such an opinion in dialogue with the National Unity Commission in Bangladesh. However, after the first day's dialogue with the Commission, the party has withdrawn from this position. At the same time, the party will work to create political awareness to stop abusing the nomination of the upper house.
The party's chairman Mujibur Rahman Manju said this after the dialogue with the National Uniform Commission at the LD Hall of the Jatiya Sangsad on Monday. The dialogue, which started at 4pm, lasted for about three hours. Vice -President Professor Ali Riaz led the Commission. The program was conducted by Monir Haider, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor.
The AB Party agreed to agree on the 5 of the 5 proposals of the National consensus commission. In addition, the party was partially agreed to disagree on 12 proposals and the remaining 20. After the first phase of dialogue with the Commission, the AB Party has agreed to at least five more proposals regarding the constitution reform. Mujibur Rahman Manju said what would be informed in writing.
Objecting to the bilingual legislature in the proposal given to the National consensus commission, the AB Party said that the bilingual environment was not yet ready considering the current political culture of Bangladesh. At the same time, the party feared that it could create opportunities for party influence, including rehabilitation centers.
Manju said the matter was discussed on behalf of the National consensus commission. “They said they would be a bipartisan legislature,” he said. Our concern was that the nomination of the upper house could be misused. In that place, they (the commission) have requested us to make people aware of concerns. We will also try, at the same time other political parties and writers and intellectuals highlight the concern, so that the relatives or anyone else in the upper room will not be rehabilitated. We will create awareness so that no one can use the nomination of the upper house. ' Manju also said that the AB Party has voted for the nomination on the basis of the number of elevated votes in the upper house.
The AB Party has also withdrawn from the proposal for direct elections for the post of President. Manju said they said that if the electoral college was only for the presidential election, then there was no problem. But if the members of this electoral college want to influence the society or in different areas of the state by maintaining a separate status, it will create a new complex. The matter has notified the Commission.
The party's joint general secretary Sunny Abdul Haque said the AB party objected to the Public Administration Reform Commission's proposal to divide Bangladesh into four provinces. The Commission has assured the AB Party at the meeting that the provincial government will not be in Bangladesh. The party has proposed to keep pluralism or pluralism in English instead of pluralism in the principle of the Constitution Reform Commission.
Regarding the National Constitution Council (NCC), Mujibur Rahman Manju said that they had an objection to the NCC to associate the Chief Justice. The Commission later explained that if any disagreement, the Chief Justice could play a good role. They have agreed in that place.
The AB Party believes that the implementation of the recommendation of the National consensus commission should be before the elections. Mujibur Rahman Manju said the People's Council could be an alternative. In that case the two big parties disagree. There are opportunities for ordinance or referendum here. But due to the provision of the Constitution, there is no opportunity for the ordinance. In that case, the opinion of the Chief Justice under the Doctrine of Nessity may be taken or referendum. However, they think implementation should be before the elections.
