Air Vice Marshal (retd) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, former Home Minister and Vice President of BNP commented that he has appeared in court 800 times in the 16 years of Awami League government.
He made this comment while talking to journalists at Court Reporters Unity (CRU) in Dhaka on Sunday (October 27).
Altaf Hossain Chowdhury said, 'I don't even know how many cases there are against me. Arrests, going to court were daily occurrences during the previous government. I have been to prison many times. Once I was detained continuously for 18 months, later I was for 5 months. I still have many memories of going to prison. But all the cases are fake, lies.'
He also said, 'The previous government was vindictive. We don't want to do the wrong they have done, because of humanity. I want them to be judged legally. They had rotten every institution from head to toe. They forgot the crime of bribery and corruption.'
