After thinking… Amidst the tension with Canada, China's words have deteriorated, which step of India has been affected?

After increasing tension between India and Canada, China has now given advice to India on the issue of Taiwan. China on Thursday asked India to act thoughtfully on the Taiwan issue. China's comments come after the opening of another de facto Consulate of Taiwan in Mumbai. China has said that this step may hinder efforts to improve relations between China and India. On Thursday, China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said at a press conference that China opposes any move by any country with which China has relations to establish official contacts with Taiwan.

On Thursday, Mao said, “China has raised this issue with the Indian side. India has shown political commitment to the One China policy and it is the political foundation of China-India relations.” He said China appeals to India to strictly abide by its commitments, handle Taiwan-related issues carefully and avoid having any kind of official relations with Taiwan.

Stress may increase

Taiwan's official Central News Agency said that the Taiwan government has opened its third office in India on Wednesday. Earlier such offices existed in New Delhi and Chennai. This office has opened at a time when China and India are trying to reduce border tensions and resolve conflicts. In such a situation, it can become a cause of dispute which can also increase tension in bilateral relations.

Taiwan protests

China considers democratically ruled Taiwan as part of the country. Earlier this week, China also started military exercises around the border with Taiwan. However, Taiwan rejects China's sovereignty claims and the Taiwanese government has said that China has no right to represent the country on the international stage.
