Crisis created by BNP, they have to solve it: Golam Parwar

Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Mia Golam Parwar has accused BNP of negligence in implementing the verdict of the referendum. He said, BNP should have accepted public opinion as the party that signed the July Charter. But they created an artificial crisis in the country by not taking the oath of the Constitutional Reform Council and skipping the meeting. The key to solving this crisis is now in the hands of BNP.

He said these things at a press conference organized after the meeting of the top leaders of 11 party unity at Al-Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar of the capital on Tuesday afternoon.

Mia Golam Parwar said that five crore people voted and rejected BNP’s ‘Note of Dissent’. Now, if that public is ignored by the majority, the country will once again be driven towards authoritarian rule.

Mia Golam Parwar said that the crisis was created by BNP and they have to solve it. The note of dissent given by BNP on the fundamental issues of constitutional reform and state structure change was rejected by 50 million people in the referendum.

Mia Golam Parwar also said, ‘We reached a consensus on balancing the powers of the Prime Minister and the President and appointing them to constitutional posts. But BNP has proved by dissenting there that they want to pave the way for authoritarian rule and corruption again.’

Regarding the fuel crisis and public suffering, Golam Parwar said that there are miles of queues at the petrol pumps due to the fuel crisis. But the ministers in the parliament are saying that there is no crisis. Due to corruption and syndicates, the common man is disoriented today. Irrigation crisis is developing in agriculture, which will affect food prices. Governments are more busy changing their own destiny than changing the destiny of the people.

Criticizing the arrest of the woman leader of Bhola Jamaat under the Digital Security Act, the Secretary General said that handcuffing a woman with a disabled child due to a Facebook post is extremely inhumane. Besides, he strongly condemned the ugly comments against one of the leaders of the 11-party unity, Colonel (retd.) Ali Ahmad Bir Bikram.

Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis Amir Mamunul Haque, Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Hamidur Rahman Azad, NCP Chief Organizer Sarjis Alam and Jagpa Vice President Rashed Pradhan were also present at the press conference.
