An arrest warrant has been issued against former Chhatra League (banned) leader MH Patwari Babu for posting derogatory posts on Facebook about the International Criminal Tribunal. In response to the prosecution’s request, the International Criminal Tribunal-1 made the order on Wednesday (April 7).
Prosecutor Sheikh Mahdi confirmed the issue of the warrant.
Earlier, in a post given by the Facebook ID of MH Patwari Babu, Judge of the International Criminal Tribunal. Gholam Mortuza Majumder, former legal adviser Asif Nazrul, former chief prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam and senior Supreme Court lawyer Mohammad Shishir Monir have been charged with dealings worth around Tk 12,000 crore.
Meanwhile, raids were conducted at the house of MH Patwari Babu to arrest him. However, he could not be arrested as he was absconding. Prosecutor Tanveer Hasan Joha said that the accused Babu’s house was raided but he could not be arrested. However, a Samsung brand mobile phone has been seized from there. In which Facebook ID of MH Patwari Babu was found in login status.
