In tonight’s edition, the UN General Assembly designated the transatlantic African slave trade as “the gravest crime against humanity,” in a move advocates hailed as a step towards healing and possible reparations. Also, in a visit to top African trading partner Algeria, Italy’s prime minister, Giorgia Meloni, said the two nations would work to increase deliveries of Algerian gas. And  the conflict in the Middle East risks crippling Kenya’s flower industry.
