Social Welfare State Minister Farzana Sharmeen said that the beneficiaries under the social safety net will be brought under the same umbrella. Social Welfare Minister Abu Zafar today Sunday. In response to the supplementary question of Reza Ahmed Chowdhury of Kushtia-1 Constituency, the State Minister of Social Welfare said, ‘There are reports of various irregularities in the provision of social security allowances. Many are demanding money. It is definitely a corruption. We will try to bring the issue of supply operations as transparent as possible.
Farzana Sharmeen also said, ‘We have taken a big project called Family Card. We will gradually try to bring all the beneficiaries under one family through an integrated approach.’
The state minister also said, ‘Currently we are in a very fragile economic situation. The country should be raised from this. Likewise we want the beneficiaries to benefit. For this, through a collective structure to take the beneficiaries to a place of convenience.’
In response to the question of Zainal Abedin Farooq of Noakhali-2 Constituency, the State Minister said, ‘We are verifying the list that we have. Taking into consideration the irregularities that have occurred in every field starting from the list during the fascist period, I will amend the policy and bring the real beneficiaries under the security circle.
In response to Shahjahan Chowdhury’s question of Chittagong-15 Constituency, Farzana Sharmin said, ‘There was a lot of nepotism in the preparation of the list in the past. We are trying to list the genuine beneficiaries who are eligible for the allowance. We will do this by checking the existing list. We have started working towards this goal.’
In response to the supplementary question of Ataur Rahman of Narail-2 constituency, the state minister said, ‘We want to rise above all kinds of nepotism and all kinds of irregularities at the distribution level and work through transparency. We have many bitter experiences including the pain of not getting past times. I want to build a developed Bangladesh out of this. For this, we will try to provide benefits while maintaining equality.’
