JSW Energy target 30 GW Production Capacity – JSW Energy Targets 30 GW Production Capacity

JSW Energy is carrying ambition to reach an established capacity of 30 GW by or before 2030. This is much higher than its current target of 20 GW. The company is the power generation unit of the $ 24 billion JSW group.
At the end of FY 2025, Sajjan Jindal’s company had a 10.8 gigwot operating capacity. Currently, this capacity has increased to 12.2 GW and there is an 18 GW order proposal which is likely to be completed by 2030. JSW Energy had set a target of 20 GW of production capacity and 40 gigwot per hour storage capacity by first financial year.

JSW Energy Joint Managing Director and Chief Working Officer Sharad Mahendra said during a media interaction that three years ago the company announced a strategy 2.0 which was aimed at achieving 20 GW of production capacity by FY 30. The first important achievement was to gain 10 GW of capacity by FY 25. He said, ‘We have concluded FY 25 with a level of 10.8 GW and now we are at 12.2 GW. We are confident that we will gain 20 GW of capacity before the financial year 30. It is expected that JSW Energy will come with strategy 3.0 in the next two to three months with revised data for FY 30.

JSW Energy is currently focused on implementation of new projects. The entire 18 GW capacity is through internal source. However, if there are opportunities for acquisition, then the company can consider them. The 18 GW capacity of the pipeline also includes a 1,600 MW thermal plant in Salboni, West Bengal. An investment of Rs 16,000 crore in this project is one of the largest private sector investment in the state. The project was announced by Sajjan Jindal at the Bengal Global Business Summit in February this year. Sharad Mahendra said, “This is the biggest investment in a new project in the history of the group.”
