A UK court has sentenced a young man to six years in prison for committing suicide in a video call to a mentally disturbed woman. This is the first culprit of a criminal under the UK's 'Online Safety Act 2021'.
The 20 -year -old Tyler Web resident of Lestershire, UK. She became acquainted with a woman in a forum on Mental Health Assistance on Reddit. Later they used to talk in video calls in the telegram. The court said those conversations were 'perverted mentality'.
The woman was mentally upset at that time. The web repeatedly told him to commit suicide. He wants to watch that suicide video call. In the words of the court, it was 'planned mental torture'.
Judge Timothy Spencer KC in Lester Crown Court said the web did this for sexual satisfaction. The court gave him the 'hybrid order'. That is, he will be in a mental hospital first, then sent to jail if he feels suitable.
The judge said, 'Your persuasion has been going on for a long time. It was not a suicide agreement between the two. It was a pleasure to see the suicide of others. '
During the court hearing, the web bowed down, covered his ear, and then hid the chair down. Refuse to say your own name.
State lawyer Luis Okali told the court that the web asked the woman to commit suicide because it would have 'provoke' him. She said that when the woman wanted to commit suicide, she would 'enjoy' the web.
It was reported in the court that the woman once tried to commit suicide – hanged in the trap. But if failed, the web again said, 'Try again.'
Then on July 7 last year, the woman complained to the police. He was scared that the web could encourage anyone else to do so. Police later arrested him.
The woman said in a statement in the court, “I would not call it suicide, it is an attempt to kill mentally. He destroyed me through his words. It has done permanent harm to my life. '
Okali also said the web's reddit profile was '** U/Empathicnarcissist **'. The account has been found in various anime and gaming characters, many of which have been shown in sexual stimulus and seriously injured or dead.
However, the web himself did not launch his camera in a video call. Because, the web knew, what he is doing is illegal. In court, the web lawyer, Joy Kaung, said the web was once mentally disturbed and exported such behavior by looking at the distorted content found online.
His physician Azith Gursingh said web autism is suffering from spectrum disorder (ACD), OCD, anxiety and depression. He is now in a mental hospital and is not completely remorseful. However, he expressed some regret.
Detective Constable Lauren Hampton said, 'This is not only horrible, but also very worrying. When a woman raised her hand for help online, the web played with her faith. '
He said, “He knew that the woman could commit suicide in his words – but he has repeatedly said it.”
