Two ships from India and Vietnam have reached Chittagong port with 3,000 tonnes of rice. The information was reported from the Food Ministry on Monday (March 7th).
Earlier, on Saturday, 20,000 tonnes of rice arrived at Chittagong port from Pakistan. In three days, 3,000 tonnes of rice was imported in the country.
According to the ministry's notice, 22 thousand 5 metric tonnes of boiled rice from India and 12 thousand 5 tonnes of rice from Vietnam have been purchased from India under the open tender. This is the second shipment of Vietnam rice. Earlier, the first shipment of the first shipment reached the country.
Interim government is importing rice from different countries to strengthen the country's food security. Shortly afterwards, rice shipment from different countries is reaching the country.
According to the Ministry of Food, the current fiscal year, a total of 1 lakh 22 thousand tonnes of rice has been imported publicly and privately. Out of which the government has imported 1 lakh 3 thousand tonnes. The remaining 2 lakh 12 thousand tonnes of private importers brought.
