Metadata and labels made the content made with AI made it compulsory

China is going to adopt a new 'identity determination' for content made with artificial intelligence or AI. These content will have human readable and machine-readable notifications (metadata or labels). Chinese authorities announced these new rules on AI last week.

According to the new rules, metadata should be included in pictures, videos, audio and 'virtual scenes'. These metaders can easily be understood by AI. Clear notifications will warn users about content made with AI.

There should be these notifications at the beginning of the video or audio content, in the middle and end. In addition, the files that can be downloaded should also be labeled so that users understand what kind of content they are going to download.

In addition, App Stars also have to follow these rules. However, users can request not to label the content made with AI if they want 'social concerns' or 'industry'. However, the application will inform the user about this rule and save this information is easy to identify AI content later at night.

In addition, China's Cyberspace Administration (CAC) has banned the deletion or change of this label and metadata. Similarly, AI labels cannot be added to human -made content. In addition, it is also forbidden to provide any tool for these tasks.

In a statement by the Chinese authorities, the goal is to prevent the propagation of false information and to improve the development of the AI industry and coordinate national security.

So far, China has not announced any punishment. China did not first introduce such rules with AI. Earlier in 2021, the European Union enacted 'Artificial Intelligence Act'.

These labeling rules will be effective from September 7.
