Relief in vegetables, opposite picture in fish and meat market


The vegetable market in the capital is now fairly stable as there is ample supply of winter vegetables. However, the opposite picture was seen in the market of daily products including fish and meat. Traders said that the price of meat may increase further before Shabbat.

On Friday (January 24), this information was known after visiting the raw market of Mirpur 1 of the capital.

Vegetable market within reach

Currently, the prices of all vegetables in the market are affordable. Buyers are breathing a sigh of relief.

Today in the market tomato is 40 taka, carrot 40 taka, beans 30-40 taka, long eggplant 40 taka, white round eggplant 50 taka, black round eggplant 50-60 taka, cucumber 30-40 taka, bitter gourd 70 taka, papaya 40 taka. , Radish Tk 20, Red Radish Tk 30, Turnip Tk 20, Radish Tk 70, Patol Tk 80, Chichinga Tk 50, Dhundal 60 taka, shrimp 60 taka, barbati 60-70 taka, onion 20 taka, kachur lati 80 taka, kachurmukhi 80 taka, sweet pumpkin 30 taka, green chili 50-60 taka, coriander leaves are being sold at the rate of taka 50 per kg. Each gourd is being sold at Tk 60-70, rice pumpkin at Tk 40-50, cauliflower at Tk 20, cabbage at Tk 20 depending on the standard. Besides, raw bananas are being sold at Tk. 25, lemons are being sold at Tk. 25-30.

Compared to last week, the prices of most vegetables have decreased by Tk 10 to Tk 30 per kg. Besides, the prices of some vegetables remain unchanged.

Shahed Ahmed, who came to the market at that time, said, 'The price of vegetables has reduced a lot now. It should always be like this. With this price, everyone can eat and live.'

The seller md. Shah Alam said, 'Now the quality of vegetables is good and the price is also low. The vegetables that we used to buy at a higher price earlier did not look as fresh as they do now. But it had to be bought at a higher price.'

Potato-onion prices have fallen

Today, the prices of all types of potatoes have fallen in the market. At the same time, the price of Chinese ginger also decreased. Today new desi onions are being sold at Tk 50-55 per kg depending on quality and size. Among them, small size onions are being sold at Tk 50 and large size onions at Tk 55. Besides, new white potatoes are being sold at Tk 25 per kg, new red potatoes at Tk 25. New Bogra potatoes are being sold at Tk 30-35 per kg. Today, desi garlic is selling at Tk 240, China garlic at Tk 220-230, China ginger at Tk 200-220, new Indian ginger at Tk 120.

In this case, compared to last week, the price of new desi white potato has decreased by Tk 5-10 per kg, the price of new desi red potato has decreased by Tk 5-10 and the price of new Bogra potato has decreased by Tk 15-20 per kg. Besides, the price of Chinese ginger has decreased by Tk 20-40 per kg.

Relief did not return to the meat market

Today broiler and cockerel prices have come down a bit but it is not comforting. Moreover, the price of beef and beef has not decreased. At the same time, the prices of layers and native chickens remain unchanged.

The price of meat is extra

Today beef is being sold at Tk 780 per kg. Beef is being sold at Tk 1,150 per kg. According to the weight, broiler chicken is selling at Tk 193-200, cock chicken Tk 305-315, layer chicken Tk 288-290, country chicken is selling at Tk 550 per kg. Red eggs of farm chickens are being sold at Tk 130, white eggs at Tk 130 per dozen.

If compared with last week, it can be seen that the price of broiler chicken has decreased by Tk 3-10 per kg, and the price of cock chicken has decreased by Tk 15-35 per kg. Besides, the prices of beef and cow meat, desi and layer chicken are unchanged. At the same time, the price of red and white eggs of farm chickens has also remained unchanged today.

When asked why the price of chicken is not coming to a bearable level, the seller Shahjahan said, 'The price has come down. But it will fluctuate. Besides, we have nothing to do. We sell at the same price we buy with a profit.'

The price of fish is beyond the reach of buyers

Meanwhile, the sellers of beef and mutton said that the reason for the price not falling, as always, is that the demand is high and the supply is low, so the price has increased. These sellers also said that this price is more before Shabbat night.

Unchanged grocery market, soybean oil crisis not cut

Today, the price of grocery products in the market is unchanged. Only the price of chickpeas has come down by Tk 10 per kg.

Today small lentil 135 taka, thick lentil 110 taka, big mung dal 140 taka, small mung dal 170 taka, kesari 110 taka, boot dal 135 taka, mashkalai dal 190 taka, double dal 70 taka, chickpea 120 taka, packet of polao rice 150 Tk. Opened Polao rice is being sold at Tk. 110-140 per kg. Bottled soybean oil is Tk 175 per liter, open soybean oil is Tk 157, packet sugar is Tk 125, open sugar is Tk 125, two kg packet of flour is Tk 150, two kg packet of flour is Tk 115, open mustard oil is being sold at Tk 190 per liter.

Comfort did not return to the consumer goods market

Meanwhile, the sellers said that the supply of soybean oil has not normalized yet. They also complained that companies do not provide soybean oil unless they buy other products.

Seller of Salim General Store. Salim said, 'We are still not able to sell oil properly. The companies are not giving us oil like before. If you don't buy other products with oil, you don't get oil. This is how it goes.'
