ONA Solar, the Egyptian solar energy company, intends to complete the implementation of three solar energy projects with a capacity of 144 megawatts in Egypt by the end of the first half of 2025.
A company official revealed to Al Arabiya that “Ona Solar” is implementing a 4-megawatt solar energy project within the Cairo Air Port, and the project work will be completed in June 2025.
According to the official, the project is being implemented on 7 buildings inside Cairo Airport, which are buildings belonging to the Cairo Air Port Company and include the airport’s seasonal lounges and Terminal 3, the multi-garage building, the Cairo Port Company’s Al-Juri warehouses building, the water tanks building 2 and 3, and the old service building.
He pointed out that the company is implementing a 100 megawatt solar power station project for the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity, in the West Sohag region, with a tariff agreed upon with Egyptian Electricity, and the entire project will be completed in the first half of next year.
He said that the company acquired a project to implement a 40-megawatt solar power station for an agricultural investment project located on an area of 37 thousand acres in the Wadi El-Natroun region in Egypt, explaining that the project is completely connected to the national electricity grid in Egypt and its implementation will be completed by the end of next December.
The official stressed the commitment of “ONA Solar” to supporting new and renewable energy projects in Egypt, through its partnerships with foreign partners and investors, explaining that the company implemented a 300 megawatt project in Aswan Governorate in Upper Egypt for the benefit of the “Alcazar” company, and the project is still under the company’s management with regard to operation and maintenance. .
He continued that the company aims to implement projects with capacities between 500 and 1,000 megawatts, in partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity, and that the company will undertake the sale of electricity after the commercial operation of the projects at a competitive tariff for the Egyptian market.
