IPL 2025 Auction: Prithvi Shaw, Shardul Thakur, Devdutt Padikkal got a big shock, did not bid, Rahane also remained unsold.


New Delhi. Today is the second day of the IPL 2025 auction. The biggest bid was made on Rishabh Pant in the first day's play. He was bought by Lucknow Supergiants for Rs 27 crore. On the second day, there were no bids on 4 big Indian players. It includes players like Prithvi Shaw, Shardul Thakul, Ajinkya Rahane, Devdutt Paddikal. On which no franchisee bid.

The second day of auction started with Kane Williamson, but he was not sold. After this the names of many Indian players came. No one bid on Mayank Agarwal. After this the names of Ajinkya Rahane, Prithvi Shaw and Shardul Thakur came but no one bid. However, after the completion of the auction, the franchise can again buy the player of its choice.

Shaw was in Delhi Capitals till last year and he also played eight matches in IPL 2024. However, his performance was poor after which he was dropped from the playing XI. Jake Fraser-McGurk, who came in his place, had performed excellently. Due to which there was no possibility of Shaw coming back. Shaw had scored only 198 runs in 8 matches last season.

The performance of all these players was not good last season. Ajinkya Rahane played last year. But the performance was not good. Devdutt had scored 38 runs in 7 matches. Whereas, Shardul Thakur was a part of CSK. He was not retained this year. Nor did CSK bid on him in the auction.
