Delhi AQI Today: The level of pollution in Delhi is proving poisonous for the people since last 25 days. The situation is such that now even breathing is becoming difficult. This situation is proving fatal for people suffering from respiratory problems. Doctors are advising people to wear masks to reduce the effects of smog, but wearing masks all the time is also harmful for health.

Dr Ujjwal Parakh, senior consultant, department of chest medicine, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, said, “Prolonged exposure to pollutants can lead to inflammation, narrowing of the airways and reduced lung function, leading to asthma, COPD or chronic bronchitis. “The usual treatment of such conditions becomes even more difficult.”

At the same time, Dr. Ankita Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of Respiratory Medicine, said that air pollution increases respiratory diseases by sending particles into the lungs. This can cause symptoms like difficulty in breathing, sore throat and in some cases secondary infection.

AQI is even more dangerous in these areas

Even today AQI was 403 in Loni, Delhi. AQI in Narela Industrial area was also recorded at 402 at 6.30 am. Apart from this, AQI at most of the stations in Delhi is in the serious category. Delhi's air quality again reached 'severe' category with AQI of 420 on Saturday morning.

On Saturday, nine out of 38 monitoring centers in Delhi recorded the air quality index (AQI) in the 'severe plus' category with more than 450. In 19 other centres, air quality was recorded in the 'severe' category with AQI levels between 400 and 450. Air quality in other centers was recorded in the 'very poor' category.

Till Wednesday the air quality was in the 'severe plus' category. There was some relief from favorable air conditions on Thursday but on Friday the air quality started deteriorating again and approached 'severe' category. On October 30, it reached 'very poor' category for the first time and remained in the same situation for 15 days.

Temperature 3 degrees higher than normal

The effect of fog will be visible in Delhi even today. Today the minimum temperature of the day is expected to be 12 degrees and the maximum temperature is expected to be 28 degrees. On Saturday, 23 November, the minimum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 11.4 degrees Celsius. Whereas the maximum temperature was recorded at 29.4 degrees which was 3 degrees more than normal. The humidity level at 8:30 on Saturday was 97 percent. The maximum temperature is expected to be 25 degrees Celsius.
