In the UP assembly by-elections, voters confirmed the work of CM Yogi Adityanath. BJP alliance got 7 seats, while SP was limited to two seats. BJP also snatched the Muslim dominated Kundarki seat from SP. The results of this seat are being considered as the biggest upset.
In the 2022 elections, the BJP alliance gained three seats, while the India alliance suffered the same loss. Rashtriya Lok Dal was successful in saving its Meerapur seat. BSP's performance remained breathless. She was reduced to less than ten thousand votes on four seats. At the same time, Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) registered its good presence in Meerapur and Kundarki.
Rashtriya Lok Dal candidate Mithilesh Pal won Meerapur seat by 30796 votes. Samajwadi Party's Sumbul Rana stood second. Last time RLD had won here with SP alliance and this time it won as a BJP alliance candidate. The most shocking result was in Kundarki, where despite having 65 percent Muslim voters, SP candidate Mohd. Rizwan's bail was confiscated. Here BJP candidate Ramveer Singh won by 1.45 lakh votes. Ramveer Singh got 76.68 percent votes.
