Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Jolie refused to comment on the extradition case of Khalistani terrorist Arsh Dalla. Speaking to reporters during a meeting in Peru on November 15, Jolie said she would not comment on the ongoing investigation.
Melanie said that she does not have specific information about what you are talking about, but if there is any inquiry regarding the arrest, she will talk to Indian diplomats. Apart from this, talks will continue at the Foreign Ministry level. He said that he would like to meet Indian Foreign Minister S. Was also in touch with Jaishankar.
It is noteworthy that Khalistani terrorist Arsh Dalla is wanted in India. Canadian police arrested Dalla on October 28. After his arrest, India's Foreign Ministry had said that a demand would be made for the extradition of the Khalistani terrorist to India. The ministry had said that they hoped that Canada would hand it over to India.
India had earlier also demanded his arrest
India has also demanded Canada to arrest Dalla in 2023. But the Canadian government rejected it at that time. India had informed Canada in January 2023 about Dalla's suspected address, his transactions in India, his assets and mobile numbers.
India had asked Canada to verify this information under the MLAT treaty (Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty). In December 2023, the Canadian Department of Justice had sought additional information from India on the matter. India responded to this in March.
Dalla is named in more than 50 cases
Arsh is close to Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar and more than 50 cases are pending against him in India. These include murder, attempt to murder, extortion, terrorist activities and terror funding.
In May 2022, the Government of India had issued a Red Corner Notice against Arsh Dalla. After this, he was declared a terrorist in the year 2023.
To avoid arrest, Arsh fled from Punjab to Canada and started carrying out his activities from there. Indian agencies have been trying to catch Dalla for a long time.
