Expatriate Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina is also an issue in India's assembly elections! BJP has blamed JMM, the ruling party of Jharkhand, for the problem of Bangladeshi infiltration. In response to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's question, why was Bangladesh's former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina granted asylum in India?
The BJP released its manifesto for the Jharkhand assembly elections on Sunday (November 3). India's Home Minister Amit Shah raised the issue of infiltration into Jharkhand during the release of this manifesto. He alleged that the intruders are coming and marrying the tribal girls by misrepresenting them, luring them and grabbing the land. Amit Shah also claimed that the ruling party is using the infiltrators as a vote bank.
JMM leader and state chief minister Hemant Soren reacted strongly to Amit Shah's comments. Asked, 'On what basis was Bangladesh's former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina allowed to land in India and seek asylum? Does the BJP have any internal understanding with Bangladesh?'
Hemant Soren also said that infiltration from Bangladesh takes place through BJP-ruled states. What is the job of the center to guard the border? He also commented that the state has no hand here.
On November 13 and 20, assembly polls will be held in two phases in 81 constituencies of Jharkhand. The results of the polls will be known on November 23. BJP and local political party JMM are all over this election.
