Many universities in America have issued travel advisories for their international students and employees. It says that students who have gone to their countries for winter holidays should return to America before Donald Trump becomes President in January.

Trump will take the oath of office on January 20. After taking oath they can sign on some big decisions. Universities fear that in Trump's second term, there may be restrictions on visas and changes in policy like before.

In fact, Trump did the same after taking oath in 2017. After just 7 days, they suddenly banned travelers from 7 Muslim countries (Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Yemen). Citizens of these countries were prohibited from coming to America for 90 days. Because of this, students from these countries had to face a lot of problems.

Visa process may be affected David Elwell, director of the International Students Office of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), has said that every time there is a change in administration at the federal level after an election. This time too, there may be changes in policies and laws which may affect higher education as well as the process of immigration and visa.

Apart from this, the staffing level of the US Embassy in different countries will also be affected, which may slow down the process of getting visas. Elven has advised students to keep this in mind before going on winter holidays.

Most students come from India and China According to the data of the US Ministry of Education, the largest number of students from India and China come to America to study. In this also, most of the international students studying in America come from India. 3.31 lakh Indian students are studying in America. This number is 23% more than last year.

At the same time, 2.77 lakh students from China are studying in America. This year this number has declined by 4%.
