The US has warned Iran that it will not be able to stop another attack on Israel. US media Axios reported that US officials have sent a direct message to Iran. The media reported this news citing an unidentified US official and a former Israeli official.
The US official said, we have told Iran that we cannot stop Israel. We cannot guarantee that the next attack will be as controlled and localized as before.
According to sources, this message was conveyed directly to Iran. However, according to Israeli sources, the message reached Iran through Swiss intermediaries.
Meanwhile, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has threatened Israel and the United States with a devastating response to attacks on Iran and its allies. In this situation, Iran threatens to attack Israel again. It could be seen as a response to Israel's attack on Tehran's military base in late October.
At least five Iranians were killed in the Israeli counter-attack and major military installations were heavily damaged. Earlier this month, Iran launched an attack on Israel with 200 ballistic missiles. Although it caused minor damage to military installations and some residential areas, one Palestinian citizen lost his life in the West Bank. Another clash between the two sides could widen the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in the Middle East and Israel's ground operations in Lebanon.
Israeli broadcaster Kan reported that US officials had noted some early signs of a possible Iranian response. However, there is still no clear indication of when or how Iran will respond.
Israel's Channel Twelve reported that Iran could retaliate through Shiite militias in Iraq and Yemen instead of directly. Israeli security officials have threatened to retaliate against any attack.
Arab media has already published a video footage on Saturday. It showed an Israeli Navy missile ship crossing the Suez Canal and entering the Red Sea. Which is capable of launching Israel's latest Lora missile. The US has also increased its military presence in the region.
Meanwhile, the US military is operating the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system in the Middle East. In addition, the US Air Force aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln is stationed in the Arabian Sea, and the Pentagon said more fighter jets, tankers and B-52 bombers would be deployed to counter Iran and its allies.
