Ukrainian soldiers are detaining youth after going to a wedding ceremony, footage has surfaced of scuffles with women when they protested.
The Ukrainian army, which is facing shortage of soldiers, is now raiding places like wedding ceremonies, night clubs, bars, restaurants and concert halls. In fact, Ukraine had made it mandatory for men to join the army since the beginning of the war. For this, the youth were asked to register in April this year.
After this order, Ukrainian youth are trying to avoid joining the army. Ukraine has been fighting a war with Russia since February 2022.
According to reports, about 80 thousand Ukrainian soldiers have died in this war. Due to this there was a shortage of soldiers, due to which Ukraine is recruiting new soldiers. Ukrainian President Zelensky says that there is a need to recruit at least 5 lakh youth in the army.

Arrest of youth who did not register
Army raids to identify youth who have not registered for the army have become common in the capital Kiev. According to local media reports, this army operation is mainly to check the military registration documents of youth and arrest those who violate the rules.
Each team of the campaign consists of police and army recruitment officers.
Kasyanchuk Sergiy, a Ukrainian military law lawyer, says that the army is now even raiding wedding ceremonies. Sergi has also shared the video of one such action on social media.
New army recruitment rules came into effect in April 2024
According to new rules in Ukraine that came into effect in April, military service is mandatory for all men aged 25 to 60. Also, any male between the ages of 18 and 60 is not allowed to leave the country.
Apart from this, all the people eligible for army recruitment will also have to register their information online. If they do not do so, they may have to face severe punishment.
In these rules, the minimum age limit for army recruitment has also been reduced from 27 to 25 years. In such a situation, many youths are not registering information online to avoid joining the army.
After this, the army has started a campaign to arrest those youth who have not yet registered for the mandatory service of the army.

Russia also increased its army twice
After the start of the war in February 2022, Russia has also increased its army twice. For the first time after the war, Russia had recruited 1.37 lakh soldiers in August 2022.
After this, the total number of soldiers in the Russian Army had increased to more than 20 lakhs. Of these, 11.5 lakh were active soldiers.
For the second time, 1.70 lakh new soldiers were increased in the Russian Army in December 2022. With this, the total active army of Russia became 13.2 lakh.
